Ham radio is a multifaceted hobby to say the least. I have enjoyed radio since childhood listening to short wave broadcasts with my grandfather back in the 50's.
My interests grew and as I was able to gain the knowledge for the license requirements and I began to collect the needed equipment to setup a station.
